As I waited for my Holiday Mini Preorder to arrive, i had visions of some of cards i would make. Scandinavian Seasons was such a cool set. I just had to get it and the matching Wheel. Well my order arrived and I pulled out the set and went to load up the ink in the wheel only to discover that I only had one current color in a standard wheel size- Ballet Blue. So much for a green card today. I loaded the ink, rethought the card stock colors and thought – I could mix Ballet Blue with the new Pacific Point and Baja Breeze. I started with a Baja Breeze background and using my trusty wheel guide made a perfect border on the edge of the page. Now for the main part of the page – my original design called for the tree- a blue tree – I don’t think so! I could use the mitten or the snowflakes (but they didn’t really speak to me ) so that left the star. Ok, How about if I have the star tumble down the page ? mmm I inked on star on Pacific Point and one on Baja Breeze using Baja Breeze ink on both. then using the same ink inked 3 more on my background. Ok, good start – but wait -Baja Breeze ink doesn’t show up on Pacific Point cardstock. So I turned the cardstock over and reinked in whisper white- ahh! After cutting out the flower on the star from the BB cs and using a dimensional to raise it up on the PP cs star , I was ready to place my star in motion on the card.
mmm… It needs a stopper at the edge. Ah.. I’ll ink a silver line. Now for some text where to put it. oops! No room —unless— turn the whole card — ah hah! There in the new lower left is just the spot for Seasons Greetings in silver with a Ballet Blue Shadow.
There now it is done seems that the only things I kept from my orginal concept is the stamp set and wheel. Ain’t life a kick sometimes! 🙂
