Busy, busy! I have been running about attending to live and all my myriad responsibilities that don’t have to do with Stamping and still squeezing in stampin and card making only to discover that this Blog was the loser. I lacked the time to create cards and other paper goodies and write the blog. So it is time to make up for lost time.
I saw the Diaperfold tutorial on Splitcoast and thought is so cool. So I printed out the directions and put it in my pile of ideas of projects to make myself. Mmmm… in the intervening time, somehow I decided that it was a Diaperfold card. So last week I was making card for a Stamp Camp and thought – “I’ll do a diaperfold card.” I got out a piece of Tangerine Tango dsp and started cutting. But when I got to the end of the directions – this isn’t a card… what did I do wrong? I reread the instructions paying close attention and discovered it was a diaperfold pocket not a diaperfold card!
What could I do but make it into a card! I pulled out my pristine virgin Happy Blessings stamp set and proceeded to brainstorm. I decided to make an insert the same shape ar the pocket only just a touch smaller and end up with the scarecrow image poking out of the pocket with an apparent double mat of green and orange. So I traced the shape of the pocket on whisper white putting the top in the corner, then cut 1/4 of an inch off all 5 sides. I then stamped the scarecrow on the peice of Whisper White cs with his head in the big corner and colored him in with colored pencils. To finish the card, I Stamped Thinking of you on the pocket flap and the interior message below the scarecrow then I glued the Whisper White to a piece of Always Avocado cs and trimmed it to a narrow border, inserted it into the pocket and Viola! Pocket to Card.
