Ladybug, ladybug…

bug-card

I made a bug card today, and let me tell you, the hardest thing was coming up with a design concept. I am NOT a bug person. Being highly allergic to most insect bites might play a small part in that, but anyway. I found a cute ladybug made out of our Stampin’ UP punches on Angie Kennedy website, Chic’n’ Shack. I used Real Red and basic Black cardstock for the ‘bug’ and stamped a leaf on Wild Wasabi cardstock and cut it out real close. For the base of the card I used Baja Breeze cardstock with 3 layered panels of Japanese handmade paper with a narrow border of Metallic gold cardstock

Right about now you are not doubt wondering why I used retired cardstock. Well, this card is being made a challenge card for a group of Stampers who are not exclusively Stampin’ Up! And my patterned paper was not SU so I decided to use what looked best with the patterned paper and not worry about any of the components being current SU products. I am currently preparing to go to Convention the first week of Aug and all my swaps will be limited to current SU products. Anyway despite the bug theme , i had fun with this.
