Having a Hybrid Holiday…

I love the feel of paper in my hands. But I hate it when I spend hours designing a project- card, scrapbook or 3-D and then making it only to have an oops in the last few moments. I don’t know about you but the most common mistake I make is to get incomplete ink coverage or slip when placing the stamp in the cardstock. Ugh! So frustrating and especially when I am in a hurry or doing lots like at holidays or for swaps.

This is where My Digital Studio has become invaluable. I can create the various elements of a project on my computer, lining things up perfectly, print out on Stampin Up cardstock and Voila! I am ready to cut and assemble my project, just as if I had a Stamp Angel creating a custom kit just for me. (And I did it all myself!!)

If you like the look of a store bought card but want one no one else has you can even have your card printed by a professional printer directly from the software.

But I still want the touchy- feely of playing with the paper and feeling the depth and texture. Plus you can make fun pop-up and dimensional cards like the one below. IMG_5107

This panorama card was made by printing the first 3 layers on Whisper White and the outer layer on Crumb Cake card stock. Below you can see the front of the card.

I used the following stamp sets: Christmas Collage (121279-wood), Bell & Boughs (121142-clear), Old Saint Nick (included in MDS)

Inks: Early Espresso, Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler ink

DSP: Deck the Halls (120810-paper) and Shades of Spring (120172-digital)

*note: In Digital Christmas Collage, Bells & Boughs and Deck the Halls DSP are all contained in one Digital kit (122176)

My Digital Studio (MDS) is a fun, easy way to create art, cards, scrapbooks etc. If you purchase MDS from me or have in the past, I will send you the Cutting and assembly directions for this card upon request. Just e-mail me.
