I want to share with you a birthday gift for my mother. today is her birthday and she sends a lot of cards. But getting organized about it is becoming more work as time passes so I combined an Idea for a stationary box that I saw on another blog and using some new tools I received for Christmas created this set for Mom. I used the new Build a blossom punch to create a floral embellishment in the upper right. Then I combined DSP from Sweet Pea set that I printed in MDS with Pale Plum Cardstock to decorate the outside of the metal tin.
The opened tin contains 4 sections: to the left is a section with finished cards ready to be addressed and have a personal note written inside, next are 2 center sections the rear for postage stamps and misc. card candy to embellish your other cards with, and the front filled with notecards and envelopes to match. The final section on the right contains a pen and a spiral address book. The cards are in plastic card boxes with the occasion type on a label on the front. I included birthday, a get well, sympathy, thank you and anniversary cards each with their own decorated envelope.
The Address book cover was made in MDS and personalized for Mom. The insides I created in word with a page template for the background done in MDS. I formatted it so each month had 2 pages (front and back with the front page already printed with the date of the occasion, the name of the recipient and their address in the third column. and the back of the page is blank to add more folks to the list. A single name tells me it is a birthday and a 2 person name says it is their anniversary. This gives me everything I need to address and write the card every month in one place
I stated out with a larger size of the same format that I had been using for my personal use and was just going to spiral bind it with my new spiral tool only to discover that it was too tall to fit in the space I had designated for it in the tin so I redesigned it.
I hope you enjoy seeing this fun gift. My apologies to the person who designed the dividers I have misplaced my notes with her name on it. (Let me know if you see this and I will give proper credit.)
