Sketches & Scraps… and what you can do with them.

Scraps… those nasty extra bits, large and small that are left when we create a card or scrapbook page or 3-D project. What do we do with them? If you are like most papercrafters you collect them. You pile them up on the table then shove them in a box or drawer and forget them until you are getting ready for a crop or heaven forbid cleaning up your craft space.

If you have been reading my blog lately you will have noticed my fascination with sketches. Sketches are patterns for creating cards or scrapbook pages. One sketch can produce a myriad of different cards. There are a lot of challenge blogs out there that use sketches for their weekly challenge. And then they show you what their team have all done the same sketch and challenge you to do your own thing with it. At the end of yesterday’s post I gave you a sketch for the card I had created. Sketches are a great way to use up those scraps you have that aren’t getting used.

To that end I have decided to hold a class/crop at my home on Feb 26th from 1-4pm when my daughter and grandson will be in town. She is a Stampin Up demo as well and loves to use up scraps and have fun being with creative folks.

So, are you ready for a fun day of playing with paper, inks and creativity? I will be providing you with 2 design sketches and showing you how to use up your scraps and create a bunch of cards or scrapbook pages. I will have out a variety of sizes of cardstock and designer paper scraps, as well as some odds and ends of embellishments. You will be able to create as much as you can and want from 1-4pm. I will be here to assist you as needed. You may bring your own supplies or not. If you have some products you want to use but aren’t sure how or maybe just the best way to use them – bring them along. I think of this as a crop/class combo. I will even have a few door prizes. So bring a friend and join in the fun!
Mark your calender and reserve a spot by calling me at 360-715-1364!

And as a final note, next Sunday I will post on my blog any photos of cards created from yesterdays sketch that are sent to me by next Thursday. (note – cards need not be the same exact size) Have fun creating- Kathy
