Here it is Sale-a-bration 2011 and I am still using up my DSP from Sale-a-bration 2010. In fact this card uses almost exclusively retired products. The one product that is current is the one I am showcasing—the Fun Flower die—
I did some playing around with ways to curl the edges of the flower petals. and found that I like the look best when I curled the petal edges in opposite directions. I have tried to show you below how I do my curling.
You want to make sure you have really exaggerated curls so when the flower is assembled and the dsp or cardstock relaxes a little you still have a realistic effect.
To finish the flower I used my piercing tool to make a hole in the center of all the flower sections and then stacked them and placed a corduroy brad thru the center and used a mini glue dot to attach the flower to the card.
