Welcome to a new catalog year! Its been a long dry stretch for me between posts. And I hope to start the new year on a positive note by showing you some of the wonderful new products from Stampin Up and some of the cool changes they are making to old products.

As a good example of this I have used 3 of our new 2012-14 In colors (Midnight Muse, Gumball Green and Primrose Petals). One of the challenges in the past for me has been to get a good solid image from a solid stamp such a the bird below. With this catalog SU has changed their pads from a fabric pad to a firm foam pad. this means it is more like the craft pads in how the ink is delivered and yet it is still the same dye based ink rather than a pigment based ink. The pads tend to be juicier and work best if you place your stamp on the table face up and bring the pad to stamp in a light tapping motion to cover the stamp with ink. Too much pressure and you will get ink all over the edges of the stamp but with very little practice you can get a beautifully stamped image every time. It is super slick! (Bet you can’t guess – I like these new pads)

This card also introduces 2 new stamp sets, Betsy’s Blossoms and Itty Bitty Banners and the new Bitty Banners Framelit.
