Are you ready? Stampin’ Up makes it so easy to prep for Christmas. The first prep I do for the holidays is make my Christmas cards; after all they have to be out earliest. I try to have them done and ready to mail right after Thanksgiving. This year I decided to make Watercolor cards and colored each one individually, so I started way early. Just in case, anyone on my Christmas list reads this I will not be showing that card until I mail them out, but I had so much fun that they were done by Sept 1st so I had lots of time to play with the other stamps and Designer Series Paper that came out in the 2016 Holiday catalog.
Here is my latest creation which I used for my swaps at the Nov Stampin’ Up Onstage this past sat in Vancouver, BC.
For this card I used the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp set and Cookie Cutter Builder Punch to make my 2 Eskimos. After stamping all 3 images in Chocolate chip ink, I colored the Eskimos with Stampin Write markers. To color the cheeks, I used the large end of the stylus in the scoreboard, tapped it lightly in Blushing Bride ink and pressed onto the image. I added Clear wink of Stella to the Fur which looks really cool in person. For the card itself I started with Mint Macaron cardstock as my base, added a piece of Presents and Pinecones Designer Series Paper, then added a small piece of the Real Red 3/4″ Stitched Edge Ribbon to join the 2 Eskimos. I also colored in the stars on the tops of the trees with Gold Wink of Stella. I choose the colors for my Eskimos because I have 2 wonderful Grandkids and these guys reminded me of Caitlin and Nicholas as I was coloring all my swaps. (FYI- colors used: Wisteria Wonder, Sweet Sugarplum, Dapper Denim and Marina Mist)
