Tags … Elven tags…

Does the elf on the shelf visit your home? My daughter and grandkids have a resident elf who only becomes visible during the Christmas season.

When I saw this stamp set I knew It needed a home in my craft room. After stamping up several images for Caitlin and Nicholas to color with me, I decided that Christmas gift tags was a perfect venue for these images.

img_2939For this group of tags I stamped the Forest and Deer Bold Prints Background stamp from Hero Arts in Vintage Sepia Versafine ink on Stampin Up Kraft Cardstock which I then die cut with a stitched tag die from Paper Smooches. I love stitched dies but finding the perfect die is so hard. This set is good but not yet perfect. I am hoping that come June when Stampin Up comes out with the new annual catalog there will be more variety available. The ones they have are very versatile but so far only in basic shapes.

I made two different sizes of tags. For the smaller tags I placed a stitched border in copper around the base tag with its image colored in copic markers on whisper white cardstock. the larger tags were the elfs on a shelf. Here is my girl elf:

For the next tag, I used the boy elf on the shelf. I tried to color them to match my favorite kiddos. The shelf is a strip of copper foil cardstock. On some of the tags I stamp the background first then die cut the tag. I this one I die cut first. note how the embossed edge at the bottom prevent a perfect stamping in that spot.

The next tag uses the presents stamp. This was a simple tag.

My final stamp was one I really had fun with. I used the sentiment from the Nov 2016 Paper Pumpkin in the message box and colored 3 different variations on this.
