Affectionately Yours Twist & Close Boxes

Yesterday, I discovered a new to me Stampin’ UP Demo from the UK known as Pootles. Her way of thinking and approach to crafting so resonates with me. Her style is very similar to mine except that she makes videos of what she does and I am doing my sharing here or occasionally on Facebook. I think she is said that she was the creator of the twist and close boxes. She did videos on a 3 sided, a 4 sided and a 6 sided box. I decided to challenge myself to create each of those boxes using the same Designer Paper set. Here is the 3- sided box.

I used Mint Macaron cardstock for the base. For the sentiment and stamped images I used the So In Love stamp set on Whisper White cardstock with Mint Macaron Ink. To complete the box, I added a Falling in Love Floral Embellishment. IMG_2997

For the 4-sided box, I started with Watermelon Wonder cardstock, to which I added the Designer series paper. For the sentiment and stamped images I used the That’s the Tag stamp set for the sentiment and images and stamped with crumbcake ink on Whisper white with a crumbcake mat. I embellished with a bow using the 3/8″ metallic ribbon available in the Sale-a-bration catalog. I also added Wink of Stella to the flowers on the tag.

And finally for the 6-sided box I used Watermelon Wonder as my base cardstock Layered on panels of the Affectionately Yours DSP and embellished with a bee stamped with the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set on Very vanilla cardstock and a series of Dragonflies in flight die cut out of Copper Foil using the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits and a Bee die cut from the same thinlits in Early Espresso Cardstock.IMG_3003IMG_3002

As you can see even though all three boxes are twist and close style and use the same designer series paper, they are very different looking.IMG_3007

‘Til next time…Happy Stamping!
