Stamping on the edge -‘my way’

I love putting my own spin on the cool techniques I see on the web.   Today I played with a gatefold card that is all  a one layer card. You stamp a design that goes from the left edge of the card to the right edge with no gaps near the bottom of the card front. Then you fussy cut along the bottom edge of your stamping. When you fold at the score lines, you will have a fold at the top and at the bottom of the card. This first card is made by glueing 2 pieces of 4.25″ by 7.5″ together scoring at 2″ . This gives an unfolded piece that is 4.25″ by 12.5″ and a finished size of 4.25″ by 5.5″.

For the first 2 cards I used my stamps and for the measurements I followed Jennifer Macquire’s video. For the next card, I turned the finished card into landscape mode. I cut my cardstock to 5.5″ by 10.5″ and scored it at 2″ and at 6.25″. then I folded on the score lines and with a light pencil marked the front 1″ from the the cut edge. This is where I want the bottom edge of my stamped edge to be. Now I can stamp across the edge as I did in the previous card and trim off the bottom edge. I will stamp a hidden sentiment on the top of the 2″ panel and my card is ready for the personal message inside. For my demo friends look for a third version of this card that I will be doing for a swap a On Stage in Shreveport in April.

‘Til next time…Happy Stamping!
