I may be a Stampin’ U Demo but I also am a Grandma with eclectic tastes. I am really enjoying Watercolor fun. Sometimes with the kiddos and sometime for the kiddos and sometimes just to play. Living in the Northwest where it rains a lot I just had to have this kit.
First, I stamped the adorable elephant holding the umbrella on some watercolor paper. Then, I experimented with mixing my own colors. Since all I had with me was the Daniel Smith Essentials set of 6 colors and my Stampin’ Up water based ink pads, I combined some of each on my palette and started to play. So much watercolor fun! When the elephant was done, I tore the edges of the watercolor paper loosely around the image.
I cut and scored a piece of Crumbcake cardstock to make an A2 top folding cardbase. Because the kit contained a rain stencil, I just had to try it out. So, I inked an overall rain pattern on the cardbase using pool party ink.
I die cut a piece of the Sale-a-bration designer paper to go behind the elephant image. But the card needed something else so I cut a piece of Pool Party card stock and layered it behind the DSP. “Better not not enough! But wait, the kit had some rain drops and puddles.” So I stamped them with pool party and tempting turquoise inks. I liked the effect but it still didn’t feel done.
And then I pulled out my Early Espresso ink and stamped a cute sentiment on the top of the Pool part panel. Now to find the perfect finishing touch. Sparkles! Gold and Pearl Sequins completed the card.
