Celebrating Mother’s Day : Fun & Crafty Blog hop

Mother's Day card 2017

How are you celebrating Mother’s Day? My tradition is to send a special Mother’s Day card to both my Mother and my Mother-in-law. Handmade of course! This year I have lots of choices to choose form when I go to mail my cards out. So do you because this post is part of a Blog hop all about Mother’s Day.

Lavender Mother’s Day card

When I returned from onstage I came home with the new ‘Ribbon of Courage’ stamp set and just had to play with it.  I combined my mother’s favorite color(purple) with tiny pearls and the gorgeous heart images and the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and Viola! A Mother’s Day card was born. I started with Wisteria Wonder cardstock. Next I stamped the central sentiment with Elegant Eggplant ink. Then I stamped the hearts and Mother’s Day sentiment with Perfect Plum ink. Afterwards I colored in some of the heart elements with Clear Wink of Stella. I also used the Wink of Stella to draw a sparkly background. Finally, I added some tiny pearls to give it some extra class.

Paper Pumpkin for Mom

mother's day image 2The latest Paper Pumpkin kit (April 2017) had some awesome Watercolor designs. This kit has some really classy designs using black cardstock for the base. the envelopes are black with a colored print design inside so it looks like it has a liner. Because the stamps included the words ‘You’re’, ‘Best’, ‘Mom’ and ‘Dad’, I decided to turn one of the cards into a card to celebrate Mom. I colored with the Watercolor pencils -included in this kit. Then added water with the brush. Finally I stamped the sentiment. So now I have 2 cards I could send.

But wait … I have another Mother’s Day card that I designed in February. You can see it here. Which one should I use? Tell which you like best in the comments. When you are done be sure to hop on to the rest of the blogs in this Blog hop.
