As a helper at the Northwest Crafty Retreats, I rarely have the time or energy to participate in most of the retreat challenges. But this time around I rose to the challenge. 🙂 My first card – I created for a couple, who after several years, decided to make a quick trip to Hawaii and get married. I received an email notice of this the day the retreat started. So I challenged myself to take the supplies I had with me and make them a wedding card.
Retreat Challenge #1
Jennifer challenged all of us to make a card using the supplies provided in the goodie bag. Included in the goodie was the Cupcakes & carousel embellishments. Being a little braindead at this point, I cased a card Jen had made.
Challenge #2
Challenge #2 is to Case one of the samples on the display boards. I wanted to use this stamp set. But I didn’t own it. Borrowing from Jennifer solved that problem. Once I had the background done, I heat embossed the sentiment on vellum. The copper embossing powder was perfect.
Challenge #3
Finally I challenged myself to create a card using the Jar of Love stamp set. This stamp set arrived in my Stampin up order the day before the retreat. I am not sure how well i like this card. But it met all the challenge requirements. I left the retreat feeling good about what I had accomplished at the retreat. And as always it was fun. I’ll be at the Northwest Crafty Retreat in Fall — will you?
